Job summary

COLSA is looking for a Senior Acquisition Logistician contracted to the United States Air Force (USAF) for a hybrid role. This position focuses on total life cycle logistics support for weapon systems, requiring expertise in acquisition logistics and data analysis.

Position Overview

Senior Acquisition Logisitician – Contracted to the United States Air Force (USAF)

Locations: Dayton, Ohio; Warner Robins, Georgia; Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Work arrangement: Hybrid (In Office & Home). Position type: Full‑Time/Regular. Clearance required: Secret.

Responsibilities
  • Assist with the planning, managing, and coordinating the total cradle‑to‑grave life cycle logistics support for assigned weapon systems or subsystems, integrating supply, maintenance, procurement, and quality assurance into logistics activities required to sustain system fielding.
  • Perform various tasks related to the planning, development, implementation and management of a comprehensive, affordable, and effective systems support strategy.
  • Provide assistance to sustainment teams through data analysis, acquisition management, procurement, and other associated logistics data of critical assets, insurance spares, tooling, and related parts and material.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of Post Production Support Plans (PPSP), Post Production Transition Plans (PPTP), and Transition to Post Production (TPP); develop and execute requirements in phased strategies for PPTP and TPP.
  • Apply knowledge and experience in acquisition logistics philosophy, policies, and procedures to Air Force systems, subsystems, and equipment procurement activities, post‑award project/program management tasks, and acquisition programs throughout their life cycles.
  • Assist in planning, organizing, and managing critical aspects of the development, production, and/or deployment of capabilities utilizing DoD, USAF, and local logistics policies, procedures, and functional and financial data requirements.
  • Coordinate all logistics elements including but not limited to spares, Support Equipment (SE), training, facilities, technical data, and provisioning to ensure all integrated logistics support requirements for the program are identified and tailored.
  • Assist in developing integrated support requirements for system and equipment design; develop support requirements related to readiness objectives and design; conduct specialized analyses on total life cycle cost, logistics supportability, and warranty; provide technical assistance and consultant expertise.
  • Assist in performing any related tasks that support evaluation of support alternatives, perform trade‑off analyses between support concepts, design, and operational concepts.
  • Develop Life Cycle Cost Management (LCCM) and/or Design‑to‑Cost (DTC) program; perform operating and support cost analyses; develop probable cost estimates.
  • Identify military and civilian personnel requirements with the skills and grades needed to operate and support a weapon system and equipment over its lifetime at peacetime and wartime rates.
  • Accomplish Technical Data Management (TDM) and analyses; write reports, recommend actions, or perform any related tasks that provide logisticians the capability to acquire, store, and manage in a timely, efficient, and cost‑affordable manner the recorded information needed to translate system and equipment design requirements into discrete engineering and logistics considerations; manage a technical data library.
  • Assist in identifying requirements for flight manuals resulting from safety issues, aircraft modifications, different equipment configurations, operational requirements, etc.
Experience & Qualifications
  • MA/MS degree, 12 years of experience in the respective technical/professional discipline, 5 years of which must be in the DoD.
  • BA/BS degree, 15 years of experience in the respective technical/professional discipline, 5 years of which must be in the DoD.
  • HSD/GED, 20 years of directly related experience, 8 years of which must be in the DoD.
  • U.S. Citizenship required. Must be able to obtain and maintain a Security clearance at the required level.
Security Clearance & Citizenship

Candidate must be U.S. citizen and able to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance. Applicant selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

Salary type: Annually. Salary range is a best‑effort estimate.
