Title
Acquisition Contracting Specialist

KBR is seeking experienced Acquisition Contracting Specialists. Successful candidates will have a deep understanding of DoD, Federal, and Air Force acquisition processes and lifecycle management, with experience in developing acquisition strategies for Space Systems Command (SSC) in El Segundo, CA. The primary focus will be supporting the Hemisphere contract, including conducting source selections, advising, managing IDIQ contracts, and executing acquisition strategies for follow-on efforts. The role involves contract and subcontract management support, assisting Government Contracting Officers and contract specialists, and ensuring successful program execution.

Job Requirements

Skills / Experience Required

  • 3-10 years of practical experience in DoD, Air Force, and SSC contracts and subcontracts throughout the acquisition lifecycle
  • Skilled in contracting actions such as change proposals, solicitations, funding modifications, and award/incentive fee management
  • Experience managing contractual documentation through various phases and reviews for mission programs
  • Ability to work autonomously and collaborate with team members and leadership
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Proactive in identifying and mitigating issues
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and leadership abilities
  • Support to Contracting Officers and Contract Specialists in contract actions
  • Participation in RFPs, negotiations, and contract administration
  • Guidance on contractual rights, obligations, and risk mitigation
  • Interpreting contract terms and ensuring compliance
  • Timely communication of contract modifications and notices
  • Assisting in obtaining necessary approvals
  • Knowledge of U.S. Space Force organization and stakeholder objectives

Education / Certifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field with 3-10 years supporting Federal, DoD, Air Force, or SSC acquisition programs

Desired

  • Master’s degree in related fields and similar experience
  • FAC-C certification
  • CPCM certification

Security Clearance

Must be a U.S. Citizen with an active TS SCI clearance.

Salary Range

El Segundo: $150,000 – $165,000, based on experience and internal parity.

Additional Compensation

Bonuses, incentives, sign-on bonuses, relocation benefits, and other discretionary payments may apply.
