Job summary

University of Texas at Austin's Applied Research Laboratories seeks an Acoustics Analyst to support sonar development in ESL. The role focuses on analyzing active and passive sonar data, conducting at-sea reconstruction, and presenting findings to Navy commands.

Work involves coordination with cross-functional engineering teams at the Pickle Research Campus, rigorous MOE analyses, and preparing briefs and databases.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• Four years of operational experience in U.S. Navy sonar systems.
• Ability to reconstruct and analyze active and passive sonar data.
• Ability to develop acoustic collection plans and deliver briefings to Senior U.S. Navy commands.
• Team member capable of working with peers, clients and management.

Responsibilities

• Conduct acoustic reconstruction/analyses of Fleet exercises to determine MOEs for sonar systems.
• Active and passive sonar signal analysis; prepare reports and databases.
• Present analysis results at internal and external working group meetings.
• Coordinate at-sea reconstruction activities with cross-functional engineering teams.
• Perform other related functions as assigned.
