Job summary

Action Gypsum Supply in Houston is seeking an Acoustical Sales Specialist to grow and maintain a local customer base by delivering excellent service and expert acoustical product recommendations for residential and commercial projects.

You will build relationships, quote prices, place and track orders, and collaborate with the branch team to ensure timely delivery. Spanish bilingual ability is a plus, and experience in building materials helps.

• Build long-term customer relationships by providing quotes, taking orders, and ensuring timely delivery.

• Maintain internal call logs and report progress to Branch Manager/Management Team.

Summary/Objective:

Acoustical Sales Specialists are responsible for growing and maintaining a current customer base by providing an invaluable level of customer service through the sale of various building materials, with a concentrated effort on selling acoustical solutions.

Requirements

Essential Functions:

• Develop unique plans of action for each customer, track and monitor success, and adapt when necessary to ensure growth; effectively gather and capitalize on generated sales leads
• Build long-term customer relationships by providing price quotations, taking material orders, and ensuring orders are properly placed and delivered on time
• Provide competitive pricing to clients with an understanding of overall market conditions
• Understand complete product mixes and impart that information via cross-selling in order to add value to your customers’ business
• Learn product features and associated customer benefits for major product categories and be familiar with the application of those products in residential and commercial projects.
• Maintain internal call logs and report to the Branch Manager/Management Team regularly on their efforts in the field.

Education and Experience:

• High School diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s Degree in related field preferred
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in sales; building material or construction supply preferred
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language fluently, and communicate verbally and in writing at a professional level; bilingual (Spanish) a plus
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office and other basic computer programs
