Job summary

Apple Inc. in Los Angeles is seeking an Acoustic Engineer to advance microphone and telephony hardware concepts from early design to mass production.

You will influence mechanical and electrical design with industrial and product teams, and apply acoustic simulations to ensure a best-in-class audio experience. Proficiency in MATLAB or Python for data analysis, plus experience with COMSOL and test fixtures, will support high-quality results.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of relevant industry experience preferred.
• Strong passion for audio and fundamental knowledge of acoustic theory.
• Experience in design, manufacturing and failure analysis of audio systems.
• Practical understanding of microphones and acoustic transducers for headphone/loudspeaker design.
• Proficiency with MATLAB or Python for audio and acoustic data analysis.
• Experience with acoustic test fixtures and analyzers such as Audio Precision, SoundCheck, and Klippel.

Responsibilities

• Take microphone/telephony hardware concepts from early design phase through mass production.
• Provide input on mechanical and electrical design with cross-functional teams.
• Simulate, build, and validate acoustic designs to ensure product quality.
• Support international travel for engineering and manufacturing test activities.
