Job summary
The John D. Dingell Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Detroit is seeking an Associate Chief of Staff for Radiology (ACOS Radiology). This role combines administrative leadership with clinical radiology duties across CT, MRI, Ultrasound, Nuclear Medicine, and interventional radiology.
The ACOS Radiology will lead quality, teaching, and research efforts while practicing ~51% clinically. Ideal candidates hold an MD/DO, unrestricted US license, and strong leadership experience in an academic
Qualifications
- US citizenship required or compliant per VA policy
- Current full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery
- Residency training in an approved core specialty with board eligibility
- Post-training practice experience in the United States (internship + 2 years) if non-US trained
- Non-US residency requires minimum 3 years of verified independent practice in the US
- Proficiency in spoken and written English
Responsibilities
- Oversight of Radiology Quality and Safety Review of exam requests
- Prescribe exam protocols and supervise related medication administration
- Interpret X-ray, Ultrasound, CT, MRI and Nuclear Medicine exams
- Interact with clinical providers to ensure coordinated patient care
- Work schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00 AM–4:30 PM, may rotate evenings/weekends
