Join the UCLA Center for Prehospital Care as an ACLS, PALS & NRP Instructor to help healthcare professionals develop the knowledge and skills needed to deliver high-quality patient care in emergency and critical care settings.

This 25% per diem opportunity may convert to a career, with compensation in the range of $34.60 to $70.91 per hour and the opportunity to work evenings, holidays, and weekends.

Qualifications

• Current certification as EMT, Paramedic, RN, PA, or MD.
• Bachelor's degree in health-related field (preferred).
• Minimum of one year work experience on an ambulance or in a hospital emergency department.
• Current provider certification in BLS, ACLS or PALS or NRP from the American Heart Association.
• Current instructor certification from the American Heart Association in ACLS or PALS or NRP (must be obtained within 6 months of employment).
• Completion of NAEMSE/NHTSA EMS educator course, Firefighter IA/IB, American Heart Association Core instructor course (must be obtained within 6 months of employment).
• Detailed knowledge of clinical equipment and supplies; ability to function across multiple scopes of practice.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills; ability to translate complex concepts.
• Available to work evenings, holidays, and/or weekends.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to drive to off-campus locations for assignments.

Qualifications

Required:

• Baccalaureate degree in health-related field, nursing, health care administration, health care education, emergency medical services or a related field (preferred).
• Minimum of one (1) year work experience on an ambulance or in a hospital emergency department.
• Current provider certification in BLS, ACLS or PALS or NRP from the American Heart Association.
• Current instructor certification from the American Heart Association in ACLS or PALS or NRP (must be obtained within 6 months of employment).
• Completion of NAEMSE/NHTSA EMS educator course, Firefighter IA/IB, American Heart Association "Core" instructor course (must be obtained within 6 months of employment).
• Detailed knowledge and experience in the application and techniques of clinical equipment and supplies.
• Working knowledge of the different scopes of practices for EMTs, paramedics, registered nurses, and physicians.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to translate complex concepts into understandable parts.
• Available to work evenings, holidays, and/or weekends.
• Ability to foster a stimulating classroom environment.
• Skill in working independently and following through with minimal direction.
• Skill in working as part of a team collaborating with colleagues.
• Available to drive personal vehicle to off campus locations for contract instructional assignments or special projects.
