Job summary

Join the UCLA Center for Prehospital Care as an ACLS, PALS & NRP Instructor. You will deliver classroom, skills, and simulation-based instruction to healthcare professionals in emergency and critical care settings, aligned with AHA and NRP standards.

This per-diem opportunity targets an educator passionate about professional development, lifelong learning, and advancing excellence in healthcare education. Availability for evenings, holidays, and weekends is expected.

Qualifications

• Current certification as an EMT, Paramedic, RT, RN, PA, MD.
• Baccalaureate degree in health-related field (preferred).
• Minimum of one year work experience on an ambulance or in a hospital emergency department.
• Current provider certification in BLS, ACLS or PALS or NRP from the American Heart Association.
• Current instructor certification from the American Heart Association in ACLS or PALS or NRP (must be obtained within 6 months).
• Completion of NAEMSE/NHTSA EMS educator course, Firefighter IA/IB, American Heart Association Core instructor course (must be obtained within 6 months).
• Knowledge of clinical equipment and supplies; ability to work with various scopes of practice.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills; ability to translate complex concepts.
• Willing to work evenings, holidays, and weekends.

Salary Range: $34.60 - $70.91 Hourly

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Join the UCLA Center for Prehospital Care, a nationally recognized leader in emergency medical services education and training. As an ACLS, PALS & NRP Instructor, you will help healthcare professionals develop the knowledge and skills needed to deliver high-quality patient care in emergency and critical care settings.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver classroom, skills, and simulation-based instruction in accordance with American Heart Association and NRP standards.
  
• Facilitate engaging learning experiences that support participant success and clinical competency.
  
• Ensure course objectives, certification requirements, and educational standards are met.
  
• Evaluate participant performance through testing and skills assessments.
  
• Support curriculum enhancement and continuous improvement of educational programs.

This is a 25% per diem, may convert to career

Salary:$34.60 - $70.91 hourly

Job Qualifications

Required:

• Current certification as an EMT, Paramedic, RT, RN, PA, MD.
  
• Baccalaureate degree in health-related field, nursing, health care administration, health care education, emergency medical services or a related field (preferred).
  
• Minimum of one (1) year work experience on an ambulance or in a hospital emergency department.
  
• Current provider certification in BLS, ACLS or PALS or NRP from the American Heart Association.
  
• Current instructor certification from the American Heart Association in ACLS or PALS or NRP (must be obtained within 6 months of employment).
  
• Completion of NAEMSE/NHTSA EMS educator course, Firefighter IA/IB, American Heart Association "Core" instructor course (must be obtained within 6 months of employment).
  
• Detailed knowledge and experience in the application and techniques of clinical equipment and supplies.
  
• Working knowledge of the different scopes of practices for EMTs, paramedics, registered nurses, and physicians.
  
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  
• Ability to translate complex concepts into understandable parts.
  
• Available to work evenings, holidays, and/or weekends.
  
• Ability to foster a stimulating classroom environment.
  
• Skill in working independently and following through with minimal direction.
  
• Skill in working as part of a team collaborating with colleagues.
  
• Available to drive personal vehicle to off campus locations for contract instructional assignments or special projects.
  
• Ability to provide service-oriented customer assistance in a professional and courteous manner.
  
• Interpersonal skills to excel in relations supervisor, staff, students, and the public.
