Job summary

SECU Credit Union in Linthicum, MD, is seeking an ACH Dispute Processor to join our operations team. You will resolve member disputes with NACHA and Fed guidelines, investigate transactions, and prepare dispute letters while supporting BSA/OFAC compliance.

You will collaborate with various departments, respond to escalations, and help ensure accurate settlement and timely resolution. This role emphasizes accuracy, confidentiality, and adherence to policy within a community-focused credit union.

Qualifications

  • At least 1 year of relevant work experience.
  • AAP certified professional preferred.
  • Clear, concise communication and organized documentation.
  • Understanding of compliance, confidentiality and ethics.

Responsibilities

  • Process ACH disputed transactions (credits/debits) and stop payments.
  • Research and respond to member ACH dispute escalations daily.
  • Prepare and send ACH dispute letters to members.
  • Perform Federal Reserve/EPN ACH adjustments and assist balancing teams.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to resolve ACH dispute issues.
  • Test new ACH products and attend NACHA trainings annually.
  • Follow up with ODFI on dispute status and respond to audits.

What You Will Do

The ACH Dispute Processor is a member of a team composed of bank operations professionals who contribute their ACH operations knowledge and experience to provide outstanding service to our members. In their role they are focused on resolving member disputes timely and accurately and are experienced in investigating and resolving ACH transaction disputes in accordance with NACHA and Federal guidelines. The ACH Dispute Processor adheres to regulations and organizational policies, maintaining awareness and knowledge required to perform the duties of the position, including all aspects of the Bank Secrecy Act and related regulations, such as OFAC, and the USA Patriot Act, Fair Lending and Information Security.

A Day In Your Life Might Include
  • Responsible for processing ACH disputed transactions (credits/debits) to and from members accounts as well as ACH stop payments, EFTs, and government reclamations.
  • Research and respond daily to member ACH dispute escalations.
  • Prepare and send ACH dispute letters to members.
  • Performs Federal Reserve/ EPN ACH adjustments and assists Recon/Accounting teams with balancing and settlement.
  • Partner with other internal departments to research and resolve ACH dispute processing issues.
Additional Responsibilities May Include
  • Perform ACH testing of new products of systems.
  • Attend three NACHA training webinars annually.
  • Follow up calls to ODFI on dispute status.
  • Occasionally attend meetings and respond to ACH audit requests.
  • Additional job-related projects and duties as assigned by management.
Education Requirements
  • High School Degree or Equivalent Required.
Experience Requirements
  • At least 1 year of relevant work experience.
  • AAP certified professional, preferred.

Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods.
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds.

Compensation Information: Offers will be commensurate with experience and education. Please Note: We typically hire at or below mid-point, which is $26.68/hr for this role.

  • Hourly Rate: Min. $21.35 – Max. $32.02
