ACE AmeriCorps members serve as teachers of record in Catholic schools throughout the United States and are full-time graduate students at the University of Notre Dame.
Responsibilities include daily lesson and unit planning, grading, instruction and participation in school life beyond the classroom, with opportunities to coach sports, direct a musical group, or moderate student clubs.
The ACE AmeriCorps member cohort has been selected for the 2026-27 service year. Members of the ACE AmeriCorps Program serve as full‑time teachers of record in grades 2‑12. They are directly responsible for the education of their students. Specific responsibilities include daily lesson and unit planning, grading, instruction and implementation of core content material in the classroom. They also participate in the life of the school community beyond the traditional school day and may take on additional roles such as coaching a sport, directing a musical group, or moderating a student club. In addition to teaching responsibilities, ACE AmeriCorps members are full‑time graduate students at the University of Notre Dame. Graduate‑student responsibilities are described in the Master of Education handbook and are clarified in periodic memoranda from the administrative or academic directors of ACE.
