Job summary

National Steel and Shipbuilding Com is seeking an Accuracy Control Engineer to ensure assembly accuracy, optimize processes, and drive design improvements within the shipyard environment.

You will conduct metrology surveys, supervise analysts, and liaise with engineering, quality assurance, production, and regulatory bodies to promote dimensional compliance and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Mechanical Engineering is preferred.
• Experience in Accuracy Control or Metrology is desirable.
• Experience with metrology equipment and data reporting is preferred.
• CAD and Excel proficiency is essential.
• Technical writing and statistics experience is a plus.
• Knowledge of shipbuilding terminology and design processes.

Responsibilities

• Support metrology across steel and ship systems maintaining tight tolerances.
• Analyze metrology data and prepare stakeholder reports.
• Plan and oversee field surveys with advanced metrology instruments.
• Collaborate with production, engineering, and QA to ensure dimensional compliance.
• Document studies and update process control procedures.
