Job summary

Lexington Health is seeking an Accreditation Coordinator to manage the CALEA/SCLEA accreditation process across the agency. You will collect proofs of compliance, document adherence to standards, and coordinate on-site inspections while advising on updated Accreditation requirements.

The role requires 2+ years in law enforcement/public safety operations or related support, and an Accreditation Manager certification or plan to obtain within two years.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
  • Two (2) years of law enforcement/public safety or related support operations experience required.
  • Accreditation Manager certification or ability to obtain within two years of hire.
  • Experience with Windows OS and MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) required.

Responsibilities

Job Summary

The Accreditation Coordinator performs a variety of complex administrative and professional assistance work in planning, coordinating and managing the implementation, maintenance and adherence to the department’s accreditation through CALEA (Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies) and SCLEA (South Carolina Law Enforcement Accreditation). At times, this position will be responsible for other tasks and special projects including statistical analysis, strategic planning, policy development, and other administrative tasks.

The Accreditation Coordinator manages the entire CALEA/SCLEA accreditation process for the agency. This will include collecting proofs of compliance, documenting adherence to established standards, assisting with staff inspections, advising on updated standards and all other duties as assigned. Work requires a high degree of independence and decision making on the part of the employee.

Minimum Qualifications

Minimum Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent
Minimum Years of Experience: Two (2) years of law enforcement/public safety or law enforcement/public safety support operations
Substitutable Education & Experience: None
Required Certifications/Licensure: Possess an approve Accreditation Manager certification or obtain the certification within two (2) years of hire
Required Training: Experience with Windows Operating Systems (MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint
Ability to read and write English fluently and follow both written and oral instructions

Essential Functions
  • Manages and coordinates departmental activities related to the accreditation process. Develops proofs of compliance for accreditation standards, prepares policy drafts, prepares written documentation and reports, maintains computer databases, develops and revises agency forms, coordinates on-site assessments and inspections, tracks the submission of required administrative reports and works closely with staff on policy development and review.
  • Participates in regular meetings with the department leadership on planning, data analysis, accreditation and other related matters.
  • Recommends changes in policies and procedures when indicated by accreditation updates, changes or modifications.
  • Composes and edits a variety of correspondences, reports, memorandums and other materials requiring independent judgment as to content, accuracy and completeness.
Duties & Responsibilities
  • Develops and conducts accreditation trainings.
  • Participates in periodic inspections to establish and monitor compliance as it relates to departmental policies and procedures.
  • Maintains continuing and substantial interaction with a professional groups related to accreditation.
  • Assists in identification and development of new programs, systems, procedures or equipment to improve performance of the agency in compliance with standards.
  • Performs other duties as required.
  • Ensures operation compliance with Federal, State, County, Organization and Department standards.
  • Ensures accurate and timely dissemination of information to supervision.
  • Ensures timely resolution to requests.
  • Any other request assigned by management.
