Job summary

Rush Enterprises, Inc. Accounts Specialist supports reconciliation, process improvements, and corporate support for national accounts to prevent losses and ensure invoices are paid promptly.

Role includes monitoring regional accounts, collecting past-due balances, submitting invoices in customer systems, and coordinating with dealers, customers, and the Rush Accounting Department to resolve disputes and rejections and to train locations as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Six months accounting experience.
• Experience with national accounts and multiple locations is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Monitor daily accounts by region and various ledgers.
• Analyze and collect past due balances and resolve write-offs.
• Submit invoices into customer systems and track rejections.
• Direct communication with dealers, customers, and Rush Accounting to locate past due receivables.
• Distribute weekly reports for management and the field.
• Escalate issues with dealer management if cooperation is lacking.
• Reconcile, clear overages/shortages on internal accounts and provide training support.

The Accounts Specialist assists with the reconciliation, process improvement and Corporate support with national accounts and to prevent Company losses. Serves as a safety net to ensure rejections, disputes and chargebacks are resolved and invoices are paid in a timely fashion.

Essential Job Functions

• Monitor daily accounts as assigned by region, including, but not limited to: IBS, Paccar MSC, Fleet Charge, Cash, and In House accounts.
• Analyze and collect past due balances, with emphasis on those subject to write off.
• Submit invoices into particular customer accounting systems and monitor rejections in a timely manner consistent with established guidelines and goals.
• Direct communication with dealers, customers, and Rush Accounting Department to locate past due receivables.
• Distribute reports weekly for management and the field.
• Escalate communication with dealer management and direct supervisor, then department manager if lack of dealer cooperation.
• Responsible for reconciliation, clearing overages, and shortages on internal accounts.
• Provide support to the locations regarding questions and training.
• Become proficient in multiple vendor/customer invoicing systems, policies, and procedures.
• Assist with any clerical needs as directed by management.

Education And/or Experience

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
• Six months’ accounting experience.
• Working with national accounts and multiple locations experience a plus.
