Job summary

Retif Oil & Fuel seeks an Accounts Receivable/Finance Clerk to support daily payment processing and reconciliation. You will handle cash, checks, and card transactions, post revenues, reconcile settlements, and maintain accurate records.

The role requires an eye for detail, strong communication, and the ability to work with credit teams and sales staff to resolve discrepancies and collect payments. On-site position with standard business hours.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 2 years in accounting, bookkeeping, or related field preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal skills.
• Proficient with Word, Excel, Outlook and internal accounting software.

Responsibilities

• Post customer payments by recording cash, checks, and card transactions.
• Reconcile credit card settlements and EFT drafts.
• Maintain records by filing invoices, debits and credits.
• Balance bank sheet daily with payments received.
• Research and resolve payment discrepancies.
• Protect confidentiality of information.
• Negotiate past due accounts and reduce delinquency.
• Collaborate with credit team and sales to collect payments.

• Post customer payments timely by recording cash, checks, and credit card transactions
• Posts revenues by verifying and entering transactions form lock box and local deposits.
• Reconcile credit card settlements
• Initiate Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) drafts and send customer draft notices
• Maintains records by microfilming invoices, debits, and credits.
• Daily balancing of prior day’s bank sheet to payments received
• Research and solve payment discrepancies
• Protect organization’s values by keeping information confidential
• Resolve client-billing problems and reduce accounts receivable delinquency in a professional and timely manner
• Make daily collection calls to negotiate with past due accounts, and sent follow-up inquiries
• Work with the credit team, sale people, and other employees to ensure every effort is made to receive payment and maintain amicable customer relations
• Monitor assigned accounts
• Research delinquent accounts using all possible resources

Requirements

The best candidate will have the following qualifications:

• High school diploma/GED or equivalent required
• Minimum 2 years of experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or related field preferred
• Excellent written and verbal skills
• Computer skills: Word, Excel, Outlook, and ability to learn internal accounting software

Additionally, while performing duties, you may be required to sit, stoop, lift up to 15 pounds, type, communicate effectively, manage conflict, work evenings and/or weekends, attend remote meetings, and travel.
