Job summary

Sage Ventures is seeking an Accounts Receivable Specialist to ensure timely processing of resident payments across our properties in the Greater Baltimore/Washington region.

The role requires at least two years of AR experience, strong Excel/Office 365 skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment. Knowledge of Yardi is a plus; benefits include PTO, health/dental/vision, and 401(k) matching.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; accounting degree preferred.
• At least two years of accounts receivable/related experience.
• Experience with Yardi or similar property management software is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and communication.

Responsibilities

• Perform accounts receivable functions including depositing and recording payments, handling payment disputes, and collecting on returned payments.
• Prepare, post, verify, and record customer payments and transactions related to accounts receivable.
• Collaborate with AR Manager to reconcile accounts receivable periodically.
• Prepare financial reports through collection, analysis, and summarization of data.
• Assist in generating monthly billing statements based on the general ledger.
• Assist Accounting Manager in reconciling bank accounts each month.
• Copy, file, and retrieve materials for Accounts Receivable as needed.
• Create reports regarding the current status of resident accounts as requested.
• Research customer discrepancies and past-due amounts with AR Manager and team.
• Collaborate with collections agency to submit paperwork and provide documentation for collection efforts.
• Assist with filing for court-related issues including rent nonpayment and breach of lease.
