Job summary

Fortidia is hiring an Accounts Receivable Specialist for our Lakewood, CO office. You will manage AR, cash, and revenue recognition across three brands, reporting to the Accounting Manager. The role blends invoicing, collections, and close activities in a collaborative environment.

We offer a hybrid schedule, comprehensive benefits, and a compensation framework with a base range of $55k–$75k plus bonus. Strong Excel, ERP like Business Central, and BI skills are valued for success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 2–3 years of AR, collections, or general accounting experience.
• Proficient in Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP), ERP systems like Business Central.

Responsibilities

• Invoicing and Billing: generate and distribute invoices with contract pricing.
• Payment Processing: apply payments via checks, ACH, wires, cards.
• Collections Management: monitor aging and negotiate payment plans.
• Month End Close: journal entries and reconciliations for AR and revenue.
• Dispute Resolution: investigate billing discrepancies and respond to inquiries.
• Reporting and Analysis: produce revenue recognition and aging metrics.
• Audit Support: assist with audit selections.
• Collaboration: coordinate with sales and IT to resolve issues.
• Special Projects: take on additional responsibilities as needed.

As the Accounts Receivable Specialist for our Lakewood office, you will be responsible for the Accounts Receivable, Cash, and Revenue Recognition function for the three brands, Alphagraphics, Postnet, and U.S. Business Holdings.

The Accounts Receivable Specialist will report to the Accounting Manager.

Compensation

$55k–$75k gross annual salary + bonus + benefits.

Final compensation will depend on experience, skills, and internal equity criteria aligned with our compensation framework.

Main Tasks and Responsibilities

• Invoicing and Billing: Generate and distribute accurate, timely invoices to customers. This includes reviewing contracts to ensure proper pricing and terms.
• Payment Processing: Record, process, create and apply payments—including checks, ACH, wire transfers, and credit cards—to customer accounts.
• Collections Management: Monitor accounts receivable aging reports to identify overdue accounts. Contact customers via phone or email to follow up on outstanding balances and negotiate payment plans.
• Month End Close: Prepare journal entries, reconcile Accounts Receivable, Bank Statement, and Revenue Recognition.
• Dispute Resolution: Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies, chargebacks, and customer inquiries professionally to maintain positive relationships.
• Reporting and Analysis: Prepare monthly metrics such as Revenue Recognition and aging trends to inform management of collection progress.
• Audit Support: Assist Accounting Manager and Senior Accountant with audit selections.
• Collaboration: Work with sales and IT team to resolve billing issues and ensure accuracy.
• Special Projects: Complete special projects/assume additional responsibilities as assigned

Requirements

• Education: A Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Experience: 2–3 years of professional experience in AR, collections, or general accounting.
• Technical Proficiency: Solid knowledge of Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs) and experience with ERP systems like Business Central, and knowledge of automation tools like Bill.com, Power BI, and Avalara.
• Accounting Knowledge: Solid understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), credit regulations, sales tax and revenue recognition (ASC 606)
• Soft Skills: Strong attention to detail, analytical problem-solving, and professional communication skills for client interactions.
• Collaborative spirit, with appreciation of diverse perspectives
