Job summary

The Bazaar, Inc. in River Grove, IL seeks an Accounts Receivable Specialist for a full-time, on-site role. You will generate invoices, apply payments, reconcile customer accounts, and follow up on past-due balances by phone and email.

Qualifications

• Strong analytical skills to review aging reports and identify discrepancies.
• Foundational finance knowledge: AR processes and GL impact.
• Effective communication with customers and internal teams.
• Debt-collection experience including past-due follow-up and negotiations.
• Invoicing: creation, review, correction, and documentation.
• Proficiency with ERP/accounting software and MS Excel for reporting.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple accounts.
• Experience in wholesale/retail/distribution is a plus.
• High school diploma required; degree in Accounting/Finance/Business is a plus.

Role Description

The Accounts Receivable Specialist is a full-time, on-site role based in River Grove, IL, responsible for managing customer accounts and ensuring timely collection of payments. Daily tasks include generating and issuing invoices, applying payments, reconciling customer accounts, and following up on past-due balances through professional communication via phone and email. The role involves monitoring aging reports, investigating discrepancies, resolving billing issues, and coordinating with sales, customer service, and finance teams to maintain accurate records. The Accounts Receivable Specialist will also support month-end closing activities, prepare collection and cash flow reports, and contribute to process improvements that enhance efficiency and customer experience.

• Prior experience in accounts receivable or related accounting/finance roles; experience in wholesale, retail, or distribution environments is beneficial.
