Job description

Overview

The Accounts Receivable Representative II is responsible for collecting outstanding accounts receivable from third party payers; both government and commercial.

At this time, US Anesthesia Partners does not hire candidates residing in New York, California, Hawaii, or Alaska.

Job Highlights

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (The ideal candidate must be able to complete all physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation)

  1. Contacts insurance companies for status on outstanding claims.
  2. Processes and follows up on appeals to insurance companies.
  3. Refiles claims as needed.
  4. Works correspondence daily.
  5. Maintains basic proficiency with using spreadsheets.
  6. Audits adjustment requests and completes when appropriate.
  7. Resolves Manual Tasks assigned to AR for follow up.
  8. Works outstanding Accounts Receivable from assigned work queues.
  9. Meets productivity standards as set by the department.
  10. Maintains accuracy rating of 97% or greater on audited accounts.
  11. Maintains strictest confidentiality.
  12. Phones patients for payment or payment arrangements on outstanding balances.
  13. Works to become a SME across multiple workflows and various payers.
  14. All other duties assigned.

Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES (KSAs):

  1. High school graduate or equivalent.
  2. Associate or bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field of study is preferred.
  3. 1-3 years professional/healthcare preferred.
  4. 1-3 years Accounts Receivable experience preferred.
  5. Excellent verbal and written skills to maintain professionalism in all methods of communication.
  6. Basic math skills for calculating anesthesia units, proper reimbursement, and percentages for appropriate adjustments.
  7. Understanding of Medical terminology.
  8. Advanced knowledge of insurance processing, guidelines, laws, and EOBs.
  9. Knowledge of managed care, Medicare, and Medicaid guidelines.
  10. Data entry skills with high accuracy.
  11. Knowledge of CPT, ICD-10 and ASA codes.
  12. Good problem-solving skills.
  13. Decision making ability with sound judgement.
  14. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  15. Skill in gathering and reporting information.
  16. Ability to work effectively with staff, physicians, and external customers.
  17. Must have a pleasant disposition and high tolerance level.
  18. Must be able to work as part of a team.
  19. Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
  20. Must be a self-motivator and goal oriented.
  21. Skilled in computer applications including MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook, and MS Teams.
  22. Communicates well with the public.
