Job summary

Podean, a leading marketplace agency, seeks an Accounts Receivable Manager to stabilize and scale order-to-cash operations. Based in the Philippines, the role reports to the Controller and leads AR across regions, balancing leadership with hands-on process improvements.

You will define AR SOPs, own ageing and collections, and drive automation while collaborating with global finance teams and Sales/Operations to optimize cash flow.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA preferred.
• At least 5 years progressive AR experience including people management.
• Fluent in English business communication.
• Proven track record of improving DSO and ageing.
• Experience defining SOPs and internal controls for AR.
• Experience with ERP, billing and reporting systems (QuickBooks, Xero, Zoho).
• Experience working with US and global finance teams and with Sales/Operations stakeholders.
• Experience in a multi-entity agency or professional services environment is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Review and approve client invoices for accuracy and timeliness.

• Approve exceptions like credit memos and write-offs per policy.
• Oversee new client setup and onboarding per SOPs and billing requirements.
• Coordinate with Sales/Operations on contract terms and templates.
• Provide collections forecasts and ageing risk assessments for cash flow.
• Drive automation and process improvements across AR; handle escalations.
• Support audits with AR schedules, reconciliations, and documentation.
• Hire, train, and develop AR staff; conduct performance reviews.

The Accounts Receivable Manager will play a critical role in stabilizing and scaling Podean’s order-to-cash operations as we continue to grow globally. Based in the Philippines, this role will report directly to the Controller and lead the AR team, working closely with the core finance team in the Philippines, the Costa Rica-based AR Associates, and Sales and Operations leaders across regions.

This is a highly visible role for someone who thrives in fast-paced, PE-backed environments and enjoys balancing team leadership with hands-on process improvement.

What You’ll Do

• Manage the AR team’s workload, priorities, and performance, setting team-level KPIs and holding the team accountable to them.
• Define, update, and enforce AR SOPs covering invoicing, rebates, cash application, collections, and dispute handling.
• Review and approve client invoices, ensuring accuracy, alignment with contract terms, and timeliness.
• Own ageing, collections, and days sales outstanding (DSO), including dispute resolution and regular AR reporting to Finance leadership.
• Oversee the month-end sales accruals process and support the AR close, including unbilled revenue and reconciliations.
• Approve exceptions such as credit memos and write-offs in line with policy and delegation of authority.
• Approve new client setup and ensure onboarding is aligned with SOPs and billing requirements.
• Coordinate with Sales and Operations on contract terms and provide input on client contract templates.
• Participate in cash flow forecasting by providing collections forecasts and ageing risk assessments.
• Drive automation and process improvement across the AR function, including workflow redesign and ageing cleanup.
• Act as the escalation point for complex or sensitive client billing and collections issues.
• Support internal and external audits with AR schedules, reconciliations, and documentation.
• Hire, train, coach, and develop AR staff; delegate and review work; prepare and administer performance reviews.
• Support integration efforts of acquired and legacy entities.

What We’re Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA strongly preferred)
• Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in accounts receivable, billing, or order-to-cash, including people management
• Fluent in english business communication
• Proven track record of owning collections and improving DSO and ageing in a high-volume environment
• Experience defining SOPs and internal controls for an AR function
• Strong experience with ERP, billing, and reporting systems in a growth environment (QuickBooks, Xero, and Zoho experience preferred)
• Experience working with US and global finance teams and with Sales and Operations stakeholders
• Experience in a multi-entity, agency, or professional services environment preferredExperience in a private equity–backed company strongly preferred
• Experience working closely with audit firms and external advisors
• Data-driven decision maker with strong analytical, coaching, and communication skills
