Job summary

Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago is seeking a Staff Accountant to join the financial reporting team in Chicago. The role covers accounting, payroll, accounts payable, cash, practice plan billing, and preparing financial statements with cross-training across duties.

The candidate will support administrators and directors with financial information, monitor variances, and assist with audits. A Bachelor’s degree in accounting and healthcare experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required.
• 1–3 years relevant experience in healthcare preferred.
• Experience with payroll, accounts payable, general ledger and budgeting is expected.

Responsibilities

• Implements and maintains department policies and procedures for the accounting function.
• Performs monthly balance sheet and income statement reconciliations.
• Maintains GL, prepares journal entries for AP, payroll, cash, AR and other accounts.
• Supports timely internal financial statements and provides information to admins and directors.
• Investigates budget variances and reports significant trends.
