Job summary

SARA, a defense R&D enterprise, seeks an Accounts Receivable Clerk for Cypress, CA (and Colorado Springs, CO) to support billing, revenue, and collections. You will learn accounting processes, enter project data, and ensure contract compliance while collaborating across locations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or 2-4 years accounting experience.
• Understanding of US GAAP.
• Research and problem‑solving skills.
• Quick learner and ability to juggle multiple tasks.
• Organization with attention to detail and teamwork.
• Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient with Excel, Teams, Word, Outlook and Adobe Acrobat.
• Ability to type 35 WPM or greater.
• US Citizen eligible for DoD security clearance.
• May require light physical effort; sit/stand and lift up to 15 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Assist entering projects in Accounting System based on Billing and Revenue requirements.
• Enter and maintain contract Revenue and Billing formulas into Accounting System.
• Review new contract billing requirements to ensure customer standards are met prior to submission.
• Review Bills for accuracy and completeness.
• Review contract costs to assist project management review.
• Communicate with project managers and Contracts in multiple locations regarding funding limitations.
• Build relationships with customers.
• Assist with Collections.
• Filing and maintaining Accounting records.
• Process Cash Receipts.
• Other accounting projects as assigned.
