Job summary

Subsurface Energy Resources is seeking an Accounts Receivable Clerk to support invoicing, cash application, and reconciliation within our Finance team in Sandy, UT.

You will process payments, prepare invoices, monitor balances, assist with month-end close, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve discrepancies. The role requires attention to detail, Excel proficiency, and experience with ERP systems. We offer training and development and a generous benefits package.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 3 years accounts receivable office experience.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Outlook and Other Microsoft applications.
  • Experience working in with accounting or ERP systems is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Process and post customer payments accurately and promptly.
  • Prepare and distribute customer invoices and account statements.
  • Apply cash, checks, ACH, credit card, and other payments to customer accounts.
  • Monitor outstanding accounts receivable balances.
  • Follow up on overdue invoices and document collection activities.
  • Reconcile customer accounts and investigate discrepancies.
  • Research billing errors, short payments, duplicate payments, and unapplied cash.
  • Process authorized credit memos, adjustments, and refunds.
  • Maintain accurate customer account and payment information.
  • Compile, collate and reconcile data required for invoicing timeously.
  • Prepare accounts receivable aging reports.
  • Assist with month-end accounts receivable reconciliation and closing activities.
  • Respond to customer inquiries concerning invoices, payments, and balances.
  • Maintain appropriate documentation and accounting records.
  • Work with Finance, Accounting, Project Controls and other departments to resolve account issues.
  • Perform data entry and general accounting and administrative duties as required.

GENERAL PURPOSE OF THIS JOB (Summary)

Reporting to the Finance Manager, the Accounts Receivable Clerk supports the organization's accounts receivable and accounting functions by processing payments, maintaining customer account records, collating and compiling data required for invoicing, monitoring outstanding balances, assisting with collections, and resolving routine billing and payment discrepancies.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

HEALTH AND SAFETY
  • Work in compliance with all Health and Safety rules and regulations for Subsurface Energy Resources
  • Be aware of any health and safety hazards or infractions and report same to Health and Safety Department
RELEVANT COMPUTER APPLICATIONS

QUALIFICATIONS
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 3 years accounts receivable office experience
