King County's Enterprise Services Section within the Solid Waste Division is seeking an Accounts Receivable/Accounts Payable Specialist to support financial operations across all lines of business in the Solid Waste Division.
You'll process AP/AR transactions, monitor the general ledger, and interact with internal and external customers while working in a collaborative, inclusive environment that values contributions and work/life balance.
This recruitment is open to both internal and external applicants and will be used to fill one (1) Career Service (i.e. regular) and one (1) temporary position for a duration of up to 18 months. The temporary position can either be a Term-Limited Temporary (TLT) position or Special Duty Assignment (SDA) for eligible career service employees. These positions are classified as a Fiscal Specialist III position.

The Financial Services Unit (FSU) is responsible for processing all accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions, along with general ledger monitoring and maintenance. Working with both internal and external customers, the FSU Staff ensure the flow of business is not interrupted and problem solve when it is. Working in a cost effective, efficient manner, FSU supports the financial stewardship goals of the Solid Waste Division.
The King County Solid Waste Division (KCSWD) is at the forefront of transforming waste management in our region, serving the communities of unincorporated King County and most cities within the county. As the lead agency driving the Zero Waste of Resources (ZWoR) initiative, KCSWD is on a mission to reduce the amount of valuable materials sent to landfills by up to 70%. The division operates vital facilities like the Cedar Hills Regional Landfill, ten transfer stations, nine closed landfills, and a variety of innovative programs aimed at eliminating waste and pollution, keeping materials in use, and regenerating our natural systems for a sustainable future.
