Job summary

Quantum Leap is seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Receivable (AR) Accountant to support our day-to-day finance operations in a fast-growing government contracting environment. With approximately five years of accounting experience, you will manage billing, collections, and cash application to ensure accurate revenue recognition and strong customer account management.

We are seeking a detail-oriented and collaborative Accounts Receivable (AR) Accountant with approximately five years of accounting experience to support our day-to-day finance operations in a fast-growing government contracting environment. Government contracting experience is a plus.

This role is responsible for billing, collections, and cash application to ensure accurate and timely revenue recognition and effective customer account management. The position works closely with a Senior Accounting professional on complex matters and operates within a fast-paced accounting environment that offers opportunities for increased responsibility and advancement based on performance.

Responsibilities:

• Accounts Receivable Operations
  • Support customer setup and maintenance
  • Assist with customer invoicing in accordance with contract and billing requirements
  • Track accounts receivable and follow up on outstanding balances
  • Coordinate with internal teams to resolve billing or payment discrepancies
  • Support cash application and AR reporting as needed
• Systems, Controls & Compliance
  • Utilize Microsoft Business Central for transaction processing and reporting (experience a plus)
  • Follow established accounting procedures, internal controls, and segregation of duties
  • Assist with process improvements, workflow documentation, and efficiency initiatives
  • Support compliance requirements relevant to government contracting, including audit support
• Escalate complex or unusual transactions as appropriate
• Support other accounting functions as needed to meet business demands
• Work collaboratively with accounting, finance, and operational teams
• Maintain a high standard of professionalism in communications with internal stakeholders and customers

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 4+ years of relevant accounting experience
• Government contracting experience preferred
• Strong understanding of accounts receivable and billing processes
• Understanding of the monthly accounting cycle including general ledger and close processes
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills (including pivot tables and lookup functions)
• Experience with Microsoft Business Central or similar ERP system a plus Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to accuracy and data integrity
• Collaborative, team-focused mindset
• Comfortable working in a dynamic and evolving environment
• Willingness to learn, accept coaching, and grow under senior accounting leadership

Compensation and Benefits:

We seek the best-and-brightest professionals at all levels so offer highly competitive compensation and an excellent benefits package.

Salary range: $95,000 - $110,000. Salary ranges reflect compensation for qualified candidates across a range of experience levels and are flexible; actual salary will be determined based on demonstrated skills, experience, and performance.
