Job summary

The State of North Carolina - Adult Correction is seeking an Accounting Technician III (NS) to supervise four Accounting Technicians in the General Accounting–Accounts Payable area. You will help ensure timely processing of invoices, leases, and purchase orders, while maintaining GAAP compliance.

The role requires strong Excel skills, experience with NCFS reporting, and the ability to communicate policies clearly to internal stakeholders. A related degree is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or related financial management field.
• Experience in accounting, auditing, or financial recordkeeping.
• Ability to supervise staff and communicate policies clearly.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily AP operations and resolve payment issues.
• Monitor SharePoint and ensure invoices processed within 10 days.
• Generate NCFS reports and analyze financial data.
• Use Excel PivotTables to research data and inform decisions.
• Communicate accounting policies and procedures to staff.
