Job summary

Nexen Tire America, Inc. is seeking an Accounting Specialist to handle Accounts Payable and core accounting tasks. The role requires attention to detail and accuracy in invoicing, payments, and GL coding, with experience in reconciliations and ERP systems.

Responsibilities include vendor invoice processing, payments, month-end close support, and audit assistance. Strong Excel/Outlook/Word skills and a relevant degree are preferred.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of accounts payable, bookkeeping, or general accounting experience preferred.
• Strong understanding of debits and credits and basic accounting principles.
• Experience with bank, vendor, credit card, and general ledger reconciliations.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word.
• Experience with SAP or another ERP/accounting system preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review and process vendor invoices accurately and on time.
• Verify approvals, supporting documents, pricing, sales tax, and payment terms.
• Apply proper debit and credit treatment and assign correct GL accounts, departments, and cost centers.
• Prepare ACH, wire, check, and credit card payments.
• Maintain vendor records and verify new or changed banking information.
• Reconcile vendor accounts, credit cards, bank activity, and general ledger accounts.
• Assist with month-end closing, accruals, prepaid expenses, and account reconciliations.
• Process employee expense reimbursements and maintain supporting documentation.
• Assist with audit requests, Form 1099 reporting, and other accounting support.
