TES Staffing is partnering with a well-established and growing organization in the Rochester area to identify an Accounts Payable & Accounting Specialist to join their finance team. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of the organization’s accounts payable process while supporting broader accounting operations, including month-end close activities.
The ideal candidate will bring strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and a solid understanding of bookkeeping practices. This individual will collaborate closely with the accounting team to maintain accurate financial records, resolve discrepancies, and ensure vendors are paid accurately and on time.
Compensation starting between $55-60K annually, with the opportunity to grow based on experience and performance.
Manage the fullaccounts payable process, including invoice review, coding, and entry into the accounting system
Assign vendor numbers and verify correctgeneral ledger and accounting codes
Maintain vendor records and ensure accuratesupplier information and invoice documentation
Investigate and resolvevendor inquiries and payment discrepanciesin a timely manner
Match invoices withpacking slips and receiving documentationto ensure accuracy
Prepare, process, and distributevendor payments, including check runs
Maintain organized and compliantaccounting files and documentation
ReconcileEFT bank statements and company credit card statements, ensuring proper GL coding
Prepare weeklygeneral ledger proof reports
Assist withmonthly purchase journal reconciliation and tax summary preparationfor the accounting team
Supportmonth-end closing activitiesand other accounting initiatives as needed
Perform additional accounting or administrative duties as assigned
Strong understanding ofbookkeeping principles and generally accepted accounting practices
High proficiency inMicrosoft Office, particularlyExcel and Word
Experience working withaccounting software systems
Exceptionalorganizational skills and attention to detail
Ability tomanage multiple prioritiesand meet deadlines
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to follow bothwritten and verbal instructionswith accuracy
High School Diploma or equivalent required
Associate’s Degree in Business, Accounting, or a related field preferred
2–4 years of bookkeeping or accounting experiencerequired
Ability tosit, stand, walk, and use hands frequentlythroughout the workday
Occasionally required toreach, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
Must be able tolift and/or move up to 50 pounds when necessary
