First Quality is seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist - Automation at our Anderson, SC plant. You will manage full-cycle AP with a focus on automating processes, performing 3-way match, and ensuring timely, accurate payments via multiple methods.

The role requires 2–4+ years of AP experience, strong SAP and Excel skills, and a drive to expand automation coverage while supporting month-end close and vendor inquiries.

Qualifications

• 2-4+ years of full-cycle Accounts Payable experience.
• Working knowledge of AP best practices, 3-way match, and vendor statement reconciliation.
• Hands-on experience with SAP and AP automation; experience expanding automation coverage.
• Associate’s/bachelor’s in accounting or finance (or equivalent).
• Strong Excel skills (lookups, pivots, basic data cleanup).
• High attention to detail and clear written/verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Reviews all payable invoices and supporting documents for accuracy and policy.
• Perform 3-way matching and resolve variances; execute invoice processing for payments.
• Reconcile vendor statements to AP subledger and aging; monitor bot-processed invoices.
• Investigate bot failures and data-extraction errors; escalate system issues.
• Identify vendors to move from manual to automated processing and support onboarding.
• Support month-end close, accruals, and 1099 reporting.
• Respond to vendor inquiries and audits; collaborate with Procurement, IT, and Finance.

We are seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist - Automation, for our First Quality Tissue plant located in Anderson, SC.

Primary Responsibilities

• Reviews all payable invoices and supporting documents for accuracy and adherence to the company policy.
• Perform 3-way matching (invoice, PO, receipt) and resolve price/quantity variances.
• Execute invoice processing for payment runs (ACH, SUA, SCF, wire, check) in line with terms, discounts, and approval rules.
• Reconcile vendor statements to the AP subledger and aging.
• Monitor invoices processed via bots and post them to SAP as appropriate.
• Investigate bot failures, data-extraction errors, and matching exceptions on invoices parked by the bot.
• Escalate system issues to automation developers/ IT.
• Identify vendors and invoice types that can move from manual to automated processing and support onboarding.
• Support month-end close: accruals, AP aging analysis.
• Support 1099 reporting.
• Respond to vendor inquiries and internal coding/approval questions.
• Provide documentation for internal and external audits.
• Partner with Procurement, IT, and Finance on process improvements and system enhancements.
• Follow segregation of duties, approval matrices, and fraud-prevention controls.

Ideal Candidate

• 2-4+ years of full-cycle Accounts Payable experience
• Working knowledge of AP best practices, 3-way match, and vendor statement reconciliation
• Hands-on experience with SAP, experience with AP automation
• Experience expanding automation coverage
• Associate’s/bachelor’s in accounting or finance (or equivalent experience)
• Strong Excel skills (lookups, pivots, basic data cleanup)
• High attention to detail, organized workflow management, and clear written/verbal communication
