Job summary

Thompson-Arthur Paving and Construction, a CRH Company, is seeking an accounting professional to support accounts payable, month-end close, and general accounting in a paperless environment based in Greensboro, NC.

You will perform data entry, verify purchases, reconcile statements, and maintain clear vendor communication to ensure accurate and timely payments. An Associate’s degree or equivalent is required, with strong MS Office and accounting software skills.

Position Overview

This position supports the Accounting functions in areas such as Accounts Payable, month end and general accounting. The position exists in a paperless environment.

Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the following essential functions satisfactorily:

• Scanning, indexing, sorting, and data entry of supplier invoices
• Verifying receipt of purchases
• Check printing and distribution accurately and in a timely manner
• Maintain lines of communication with vendors to ensure prompt payment and resolution of questions or concerns
• Reconcile vendor statements, research and correct discrepancies
• Prepare necessary documents and assist in month end closing
• Some switchboard and mail duties
• Maintain files and documentation thoroughly and accurately, in accordance with company policy and accepted accounting practice

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Education/Experience

• Associates degree or equivalent form of a two-year college; or equivalent in years of related work experience or training

Knowledge/Skill Requirements

• Skilled and accurate in data entry and data research
• Ability to promote and participate in a team environment
• Good customer service skills
• Must demonstrate the ability to use a computer to communicate and analyze data. This includes but is not limited to the use of Outlook, MS Office programs, accounting software and web-based programs
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Ability to work under pressure and within deadlines
• Accuracy and attention to detail is a must
• Travel may be required
