Job summary

Safelite is seeking an Accounts Payable specialist to oversee and manage the AP function, including vendor setup/maintenance approvals. You will validate invoices, ensure proper documentation and coding, and process payments efficiently while leveraging discounts.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• 1-3 years of experience preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the validity and accuracy of all vendor invoices and credit memos.
• Ensure payment requests have proper backup documentation, accurate coding, and required signatures for approval.
• Process invoices by matching with purchase orders and receiving slips through the PO Resolution queue.
• Enter invoices correctly and record them in a timely basis.
• Process invoices for payment per vendor terms and take advantage of discounts.
• Identify process improvements to increase payment accuracy and improve customer service.
• Research vendor accounts and respond to inquiries via phone, email, or other methods.
• Verify vendor statements to the AP open trial balance.
• Resolve discrepancies by investigating documentation and issuing stop payments when necessary.
• Assist in recordkeeping and filing of AP documents.
• Participate in ad-hoc AP analysis as requested by management.
• Handle sensitive inquiries and respond to information requests from stakeholders.
• Assist in month-end close by creating journal entries and reconciling GL accounts.
• Respond to vendor and internal emails in the AP mailbox.

A Brief Overview

What you will do

• Ensures the validity and accuracy of all vendor invoices and credit memos received.

• Responsible for invoice processing by matching invoices with purchase orders and receiving slips, through the PO Resolution queue
• Ensures that invoices are entered correctly and are recorded on a timely basis.
• Reviews and processes invoices for payment in accordance with vendor payment terms, taking advantage of all purchase discounts.
• Identifies process improvements necessary to increase payment accuracy, improve customer service.
• Research vendor accounts and answers vendor inquires via phone, email and other communication methods
• Verifies vendor statements to the Accounts Payable open trial balance.
• Resolving account discrepancies by investigating documentation, issuing stop payment notices when necessary.

Expected Work Location (In Office)

It is expected that you will primarily perform work at the Safelite Home Office (7400 Safelite Way, Columbus, OH 43235). You are required to work in the office at least 4 days a week. Changes to work location arrangements are subject to managerial approval and business needs.
