Job summary

Lexus of Oxnard, part of Ken Garff Automotive Group, is seeking an Accounts Payable/Receivable Clerk to support our dealership operations. The role involves reviewing invoices, managing vendor communications, and assisting with monthly closings in a fast-paced automotive environment.

Qualified candidates will have 1–2 years of AP/AR experience, strong Microsoft Office skills, and excellent communication. A high school diploma or GED is required; automotive experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Review invoices for documentation and approval prior to payment.
• Prepare invoice deduction notices as necessary.
• Audit freight bills against manifests.
• Answer vendor inquiries and manage accounts payable processes.
• Assist in monthly closings and cash handling activities.
• Enter cash receipts and update accounts receivable ledgers by customer.

Here’s what you’ll be doing:

• Reviews all invoices for appropriate documentation and approval prior to payment
• Prepare invoice deduction notices, as necessary
• Audit freight bills against freight manifests
• Answer all vendor inquiries
• Analyze vendor accounts and negotiate extended terms with vendors when cash is restricted
• Prepare accounts payable checks
• Print all accounts payable reports and maintain all accounts payable files
• Prepare analysis of accounts, as required
• Assist in monthly closings
• Prepare daily cash deposits and complete cash control sheet
• Enter finalized cash receipts and update accounts receivable ledger by customer
• Obtain and mail invoice copies for customers, as requested
• Process daily credit card deposits
• File check stubs and bank receipts
• Research and process customer claims of invoice payment
• Research and process charge backs, returns, and bad checks
• Answer accounts receivable phone inquiries and follow up
• Call and/or mail correspondence to customers as necessary in order to update accounts
• Assist with related special projects, as required
• Other duties as assigned

Here’s what you’ll need:

• 1-2 years AP/AR experience, previous automotive experience a plus
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office software products, and the general use of a computer and calculator
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Self-motivated, organized, and effective problem-solver
• Advanced computer skills
• High school diploma or GED; college degree preferred
