Job summary

Ruppert Landscape Co. in Laytonsville, MD is seeking an Accounts Payable Manager to lead the AP function, ensure timely and accurate processing of 6,500+ invoices per month, and drive end-to-end process improvements. This role partners with the Financial Controller and reports to the leadership team.

You will manage a small AP team, maintain vendor master data in JD Edwards, and uphold internal controls while delivering reliable monthly close and strong customer/vendor service.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
• 6+ years of experience as an Accounts Payable Manager.
• 5-10 years in large-scale organizations (public or private equity backed).
• Familiarity with GAAP and strong working knowledge of internal controls.
• Advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, Macros).

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the A/P team of 4 to 5 specialists.
• Ensure timely and accurate processing of 6,500+ invoices per month.
• Drive end-to-end A/P process improvements and KPI monitoring.
• Manage vendor master data in JD Edwards.
• Ensure month-end close accuracy for A/P.
