Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Manager to join our Finance team and oversee day-to-day accounts payable operations. This role is responsible for leading a team of AP professionals, ensuring payments are processed accurately and efficiently, maintaining established controls and procedures, and supporting compliance and audit requirements. This position is ideal for a hands‑on leader who enjoys developing team members, improving processes, and partnering cross‑functionally to support business operations while maintaining appropriate financial controls.

What You'll Do
Team Leadership
  • Lead, mentor, and coach the accounts payable team, setting service standards and managing to them.
  • Assign and balance workload across the team, monitor performance, and provide constructive feedback.
  • Ensure team members are trained and equipped to perform their duties effectively as volume and complexity grow.
Accounts Payable Operations
  • Oversee the end‑to‑end accounts payable cycle across multiple entities and currencies, including invoice intake, coding, approval routing, payment runs, and vendor query resolution.
  • Ensure disbursements are accurate, appropriately approved and executed on schedule.
  • Resolve complex invoice, purchase order, and receipt discrepancies, and act as the escalation point for vendor issues.
  • Oversee the accounts payable inbox, ensuring that the team is providing timely response to internal and external inquiries.
  • Administer corporate card and employee expense policy, enforcement and review.
Compliance Program
  • Oversee the vendor master record, including onboarding, validation, banking detail verification, and ongoing governance.
  • Execute and maintain established payment fraud controls, including duplicate payment detection, change‑of‑bank‑detail verification, and segregation of duties over payment release.
  • Coordinate and administer tax information reporting obligations across jurisdictions, including T4A and 1099 reporting and cross‑border withholding.
  • Maintain documented accounts payable policies and procedures, and ensure control evidence is retained to audit standard.
Close and Reporting
  • Deliver accounts payable close activities, including accruals, accounts payable aging analysis, and supporting reconciliations.
  • Report to management on key accounts payable metrics, including cycle time, aging, and discount capture.
  • Partner with external auditors on accounts payable and disbursement testing, providing narrative support and timely evidence.
Operational Excellence
  • Identify and implement process improvements that reduce manual touches and shorten invoice cycle time as volume scales.
  • Support system implementations and enhancements related to ERP, accounts payable automation, and workflow tools.
  • Partner cross‑functionally with Procurement, Legal, IT, and the business to streamline purchasing and approval workflows.
What We're Looking For
  • 5+ years of progressive accounts payable experience, including at least 2 years leading a team
  • Demonstrated experience managing accounts payable operations in a multi‑entity and/or multi‑currency environment
  • Strong understanding of accounts payable controls, vendor management practices, and compliance requirements
  • Demonstrated experience operating within a controlled close environment, with a clear understanding of documentation standards, review requirements, and audit evidence
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience working with large, detailed datasets in support of reconciliations and audit requests
  • High degree of ownership, attention to detail, and judgment required to operate effectively in a high growth, scaling technology environment
  • Proven ability to partner cross‑functionally while maintaining strong accounting governance and control discipline

Indicators of Success

We're looking for someone who checks off most, but not all, of the boxes listed in "skills and experiences". It's more important to us to find candidates who can display indicators of success through skills they have developed and experiences they have been a part of, than to find folks who have "been there, done that". We want to be part of your development journey, and we'll learn as much from you as you learn from us.

How We Work

At Magnet Forensics, we take a hybrid-flexible approach to support your productivity and work‑life balance. If you're within a comfortable travel distance to one of our offices, you'll occasionally join us in person. How often you'll come in depends on your department and team needs, typically ranging from weekly to monthly. These in‑person moments help us build stronger connections, spark new ideas, and celebrate our successes together. Most days, you can choose what works best for you, while staying in tune with your team's goals.

We're excited to welcome you to our team and look forward to achieving great things together - both in the office and wherever you work best!

The Most Important Thing

We're looking for candidates that can provide examples of how they have demonstrated Magnet CODE in their previous experiences:

CARE - We care about each other and our mission to make a difference in the world.

OWN - We are accountable for our results - while never forgetting to act with integrity, empathy, and respect.

DEDICATE - We put our heart and soul into meeting the needs of our customers and helping them serve the people they protect.

EVOLVE - We are constantly innovating and exploring new ways to work together to make an impact with our work.

Here at Magnet Forensics, we are committed to continuous learning and are focused on building a diverse and inclusive workforce. This commitment will be reflected in our hiring processes and embedded in our values and how we treat one another.
