Job summary

City of San Antonio is seeking an Accounts Payable Supervisor to lead a team, train staff, and ensure accurate and timely vendor payments. You will supervise daily AP activities, coordinate with departments, and ensure compliance with city policies while leveraging SAP for processing and reporting.

The role requires a bachelor's degree and 3 years of accounting experience, with strong Excel skills and supervisory experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
• Three (3) years of increasingly responsible accounting experience.
• Knowledge of governmental accounting, auditing, and financial reporting.
• Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

Responsibilities

• Supervises, trains, and evaluates assigned staff to ensure tasks are performed accurately and on-time.
• Serves as the primary trainer for accounts payable staff and SAP-related processes.
• Validates and tests changes to the accounts payable system and SAP modules.
• Ensures compliance with payment terms and city policies and procedures.
• Monitors payments and documentation for data entry standards and remittance details.
• Responds to inquiries from vendors and City personnel and resolves issues promptly.
• Oversees preparation of payables documents for SAP entry and reporting.
• Assists in special projects and data compilation using various software applications.
