Job description

Smartax Consultancy Limited is a family-run accountancy business seeking a female applicant who is currently studying or has recently completed a degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration. The ideal candidate will be serious, loyal, and goal-oriented for the next 2 to 5 years. We offer suitable training and can sponsor skilled worker visas if required.

Note that remote working and the use of personal mobile phones during working hours are not permitted for this role. The official working hours are Monday to Friday, 9 am to 5 pm.

Accounts Administrator Main Roles & Responsibilities
  • Handling administrative tasks such as correspondence, filing, printing, and scanning.
  • Scheduling client appointments and managing departmental deadlines.
  • Maintaining accurate client records and creating new files.
  • Assisting with payroll data management to process month-end payroll for various clients.
  • Supporting HR record management for clients using Bright HR.
  • Updating client records in Xero and IRIS Accounts software.
  • Performing daily and monthly bank reconciliations on Xero.
  • Preparing and entering journal entries into the system after training.
  • Supporting the preparation of management accounts and month-end duties once trained.
  • Analyzing bank statements to prepare trial balances using Pivot tables, after training.
  • Maintaining records and updating client profiles with NEST Pension provider.
  • Responding to client and employee queries via email regarding payroll, accounts, and HR issues.
