Overview Compensation : $49, - $70, based on experience and credentials Schedule : Monday through Friday 8 : 00 AM – 5 : 00 PM (flexible hybrid) The Accounting Support Supervisor oversees the daily operations of the Accounting Support team. This individual supervises the daily activities of their team to ensure department goals are met and high-quality service is maintained. Ensure accounting functions are performed accurately and in accordance with applicable policies, procedures, laws, and regulations Ensure daily, weekly, and monthly reconciliations or tasks are completed promptly and accurately balanced Ensure timely clearing of outstanding items on the reconciliations and appropriate supporting documentation is maintained Complete assigned GL account reconciliations accurately and efficiently Schedule cross-training for staff Maintain the Accounting Department policy and procedure manuals Assist with implementing accounting policy and procedure changes Gather information required for external or internal auditors and regulatory examiners Coordinate departmental projects. Provide answers to staff questions concerning general ledger account issues, outages, or outstanding reconciliation items Conduct weekly team meetings to discuss topics regarding assigned tasks, team goals, projects, issues, etc. Delegate responsibilities to staff and monitor progress Set goals and objectives for team members Guide staff in developing action plans to achieve operational results Hire, train, coach, appraise, and reward staff, acknowledge staff feedback or concerns Oversee the advancement or disciplinary matters of staff Cultivate a strong team by building trust among the team members Attend educational events such as conferences, courses, seminars, workshops, and meetings to increase professional knowledge
High school diploma or equivalent 4+ years of experience in an accounting department with a financial institution Proficient in Microsoft Excel Supervisory experience desired Ability to prioritize tasks by effectively managing competing and changing priorities to meet deadlines Accurate, detail-oriented, and organized with task management Ability to analyze and resolve complex problems Proficient written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills to interact effectively with members, staff, vendors, and government regulators Ability to comprehensibly communicate policies, practices, and procedures to direct reports and stakeholders
