Job summary

The State of Iowa - Executive Branch, Iowa DOT, seeks an Accounting Support Technician 2 in Ames to ensure accurate financial processing and monitoring of accounts. You will support financial operations, resolve discrepancies, and assist customers with accounting inquiries.

Qualifications

• Three years of full-time work experience in processing financial or related data, including verifying, entering, or maintaining transaction records.
• A total of three years of education and/or full-time experience, where 30 semester hours of accredited coursework in accounting or business equals one year of experience.
• Current, continuous experience in the state executive branch that includes eighteen months of full-time work as an Accounting Support Technician 1.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support for financial and accounting matters.
• Audit, reconcile, deposit and report on financial transactions.
• Review, research and adjust funding transactions and discrepancies.
• Process financial transactions following DOT policies.
• Assist customers with accounting-based questions.
