Job summary

Alameda County Public Works Agency seeks an experienced Accounting Supervisor to lead the departmental accounting program, oversee cost accounting, auditing, and reporting across multiple enterprise and trust funds, including Road Fund and Special Revenue Funds.

The role requires advanced accounting knowledge, supervision experience, and the ability to develop and maintain robust accounting systems in a complex agency environment. A California driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance from an accredited college; substitution allowed for related experience
• Four years of professional accounting, auditing, or finance experience in public works or multi-program accounting/public finance environment
• CA driver's license or equivalent preferred

Responsibilities

• Supervise and manage the departmental accounting program for Public Works
• Prepare complex accounting, statistical and narrative reports; oversee cost accounting and auditing activities
• Oversee accounting systems for multiple funds including Road Fund and Special Revenue Funds
• Plan, train, and supervise accounting staff and ensure compliance with regulations
