Jobot is seeking an Accounting Supervisor in Columbus, OH to own AP/AR operations and drive financial accuracy in a fast-growing manufacturing environment. The role is fully on-site at our Whitehall-area facility, with accountability across month-end close, journal entries, inventory, fixed assets, payroll, and reconciliations.

Required: 3+ years in accounting (manufacturing a plus), a Bachelor's in Accounting, strong US GAAP knowledge, and ERP experience (SAP).

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required.
  • Minimum of 3 years accounting experience, preferably in manufacturing or multi-entity environment.
  • Strong hands-on AP and AR experience.
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP and accrual-based accounting including revenue recognition and period-end accruals.
  • Experience with month-end close processes and reconciliations.
  • Proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, lookups, data analysis).
  • Experience with ERP systems such as SAP or comparable platforms.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities with accuracy and meet deadlines.
  • Comfortable in an entrepreneurial, fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Own and maintain up-to-date accounting documentation.
  • Supervise daily AP and AR activities; ensure timely processing of invoices and cash collections.
  • Provide hands-on support and guidance on transaction processing and technical accounting matters.
  • Monitor AP operations and provide backup support to ensure timely processing.
  • Review and post journal entries; ensure accuracy and compliance with US GAAP.
  • Handle payroll, fixed assets, inventory and other balance sheet accounts when needed.
  • Support month-end close activities and ad hoc analyses for management.
  • Assist audits with documentation and information requests.
  • Supervise AP/AR workloads and train team members.
  • Collaborate with Operations, HR, Procurement to align financial processes.

Job Details

The Accounting Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily accounting operations, with a primary focus on Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR). This hands-on role ensures accurate and timely transaction processing, supports month-end close activities, and maintains compliance with accounting policies within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

This position is fully onsite in Whitehall, Ohio.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Own and maintain comprehensive, up-to-date accounting documentation, ensuring processes, procedures, and accounting treatments are clearly defined and consistently followed.
  • Supervise daily AP and AR activities, ensuring accurate and timely processing of invoices, payments, cash collections, and related transactions.
  • Serve as the primary accounting escalation point, providing hands‑on support and guidance to AP/AR team members regarding transaction processing, technical accounting matters, and issue resolution.
  • Monitor AP operations and provide direct backup support as needed to maintain uninterrupted and timely processing.
  • Review and post journal entries, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with US GAAP.
  • Handle accounting treatment for key areas outside AP/AR, including payroll, fixed assets, inventory, and other balance sheet accounts as needed.
  • Support month‑end close activities and prepare ad hoc financial analyses for management.
  • Support internal and external audits by maintaining accurate documentation and responding to information requests.
  • Supervise AP/AR workloads, prioritize tasks, and provide accounting training and guidance to team members.
  • Partner with Operations, Human Resources, Procurement, and other business functions to resolve accounting matters and ensure alignment of financial processes.
Minimum Qualifications
Required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
  • Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience, preferably within a manufacturing or multi‑entity environment.
  • Strong hands‑on Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable experience.
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP and accrual‑based accounting, including revenue recognition, expense matching, and period‑end accruals.
  • Experience with month‑end close processes and account reconciliations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, lookups, and data analysis.
  • Experience with ERP systems such as SAP or comparable platforms.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines while maintaining a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Comfortable working in an entrepreneurial, fast‑paced, and evolving business environment.
  • Proactive and adaptable, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • CPA, ACCA, CMA, or equivalent professional certification.
  • Experience within a food manufacturing environment.
  • Previous supervisory or accounting team lead experience.
  • Experience within a fast‑paced, plant‑based, or multi‑site organization.
  • Demonstrated process‑improvement mindset, including automation, standardization, and efficiency initiatives.
