Job summary

Hyster-Yale Materials Handling, Inc., a world-class manufacturer of industrial lift trucks, seeks an Accounting Supervisor III based at our Berea, KY facility to lead financial reporting, internal controls, and month-end close.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's in Accounting with 5+ years' progressive accounting experience, strong GAAP/SEC/SOX knowledge, and advanced Excel skills. CPA/CMA/MBA credentials are preferred, with hybrid work options and opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
Master's degree in Accounting (MSA) preferred.
CPA, CMA, and/or MBA certification preferred.
Minimum of five years of progressive accounting experience.
Strong GAAP, SEC and Sarbanes-Oxley knowledge.

Responsibilities

Lead and oversee financial reporting activities in compliance with GAAP, SEC, and SOX.
Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements, reconciliations, and month-end close.
Monitor internal controls to safeguard assets and support compliance.
Analyze financial results, identify variances, and provide management explanations.
Support annual budgeting, forecasts and long-range planning.
Coordinate accounting across locations within the Americas Division.
Supervise, coach and develop accounting staff; manage workload and performance.
Drive process improvements to increase efficiency and reporting quality.

What You Will Do;

Lead and oversee financial reporting activities, ensuring compliance with GAAP, SEC, and Sarbanes-Oxley requirements.
Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements, account reconciliations, and month-end closing activities.
Monitor and maintain strong internal controls to safeguard company assets and support compliance initiatives.
Analyze financial results, identify variances, and provide recommendations and explanations to management.
Support the development of annual operating plans, forecasts, and long-range financial planning activities.
Coordinate accounting and reporting activities across multiple locations within the Americas Division.
Supervise, coach, and develop accounting team members while managing workload priorities and performance.
Champion process improvement efforts that increase efficiency, enhance reporting quality, and ensure compliance with internal control requirements.

What You Will Need - Education;

Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
Master's degree in Accounting (MSA) preferred.
CPA, CMA, and/or MBA certification preferred.

Financial reporting and analysis
Account reconciliation and month-end close processes
Knowledge of GAAP, SEC, and Sarbanes-Oxley requirements
Advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency

Minimum of five years of progressive accounting experience.
Experience supervising or leading accounting professionals preferred.

Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet critical deadlines.
Experience working with confidential financial information.
Ability to collaborate with internal stakeholders, external auditors, vendors, banks, and customers.
Willingness to travel occasionally (approximately 5-6%).
