Job summary

Poms & Associates is seeking an Accounting Supervisor – Corporate to oversee corporate accounting functions, lead staff, and ensure accurate financial reporting, close activities, and internal controls while coaching team members.

You will supervise accounts payable, general ledger, and tax-related activities; prepare financial statements; contribute to budgeting and forecasting; support audits and tax work; and drive process improvements within a hybrid work environment.

Qualifications

• Education and experience requirements include a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance with public accounting or progressive private/corporate accounting experience; multiple pathways are listed.
• At least one year in a supervisor role is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and corporate accounting practices; leadership and development of staff are expected.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, mentor, and support accounting staff while overseeing corporate accounting functions such as accounts payable, general ledger, and tax-related activities.
• Prepare and review financial statements and support monthly and year-end close for timely, accurate reporting.
• Analyze financial data and provide insights to senior management for business decisions.
• Contribute to budgeting and forecasting activities.
• Coordinate annual audit and tax work and ensure compliance with requirements.
• Review and strengthen accounting procedures and internal controls to improve accuracy and efficiency.
• Support financial analysis and special projects including ROI analyses.
