Job description

Why Join Dealers Auto Auction of Memphis?

At DAA Memphis, we move fast, drive results, and celebrate the teamwork that fuels a high-volume wholesale automotive auction. We are looking for an energetic, detail-oriented Accounting Supervisor to lead our daily financial engine and mentor an operational accounting team. If you thrive in dynamic environments, love solving transactional puzzles, and want an impactful leadership role where your work directly protects company assets and builds dealer trust, we want to hear from you.

Position Summary

As the Accounting Supervisor, you will lead the core day-to-day transactional accounting functions of our fast-paced auction ecosystem. Balancing strong general accounting knowledge with hands-on leadership, you will oversee accounts receivable, accounts payable, and daily cash flow while ensuring absolute transaction integrity. This is an operational leadership role working in direct partnership with our Controller and corporate accounting teams—allowing you to sharpen your supervisory skills and drive process improvements without the burden of final corporate financial certifications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Direct Operations: Supervise, train, and mentor the accounting staff, establishing daily priorities and managing workflows.
  • Cultivate Performance: Conduct regular performance reviews, cross-train team members, and foster a collaborative, accountable work culture.
High-Volume Transaction Management
  • Auction Operations: Oversee the financial life cycle of vehicle sales, dealer purchases, buyer/seller fees, and settlement processing.
  • Discrepancy Resolution: Review daily transaction reports to proactively resolve processing errors, balancing speed with strict GAAP compliance.
  • Industry Standards: Maintain a working knowledge of National Auto Auction Association (NAAA) guidelines and the 2026 arbitration frameworks.
  • Dealer Accounts (AR): Manage dealer invoicing, collections, credit limit enforcement, and title-release alignment.
  • Seller Settlements (AP): Oversee vendor invoices and consignor payouts, verifying correct fees and deductions prior to funds release.
  • Cash Controls: Maintain ironclad controls over daily cash receipts, bank deposits, payment processing (ACH, wire, check), and bank reconciliations.
General Ledger & Closing Support
  • Month-End Close: Assist the Controller by preparing journal entries, reconciling complex general ledger accounts, and researching variances.
  • Audit Readiness: Keep pristine documentation for accruals, prepaids, and intercompany activities to support internal and external audits.
