Base pay range

$100,000.00/yr - $125,000.00/yr

Job Summary

The Accounting Supervisor supports the financial operations of the company by overseeing day-to-day accounting functions and ensuring accuracy in financial reporting. This role is responsible for supervising a team of accounting staff, maintaining internal controls, and supporting the month-end close process. The Accounting Supervisor ensures compliance with applicable regulations and assists with financial analysis and reporting as directed by the Accounting Manager.

Responsibilities

Accounting Operations & Reporting

• Supervise daily accounting activities, including AP, AR, general ledger entries, and reconciliations
• Assist in preparing accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
• Review journal entries, reconciliations, and schedules to ensure completeness and compliance
• Support the month-end and year-end close processes
  
  

Team Supervision

• Oversee and coordinate the workloads of staff accountants and clerks
• Provide training, guidance, and daily support to the accounting team
• Review team output for accuracy and adherence to policies and deadlines
  
  

Internal Controls & Compliance

• Help enforce internal controls and ensure adherence to company policies and accounting standards
• Support documentation of processes and preparation for audits
• Assist with audit requests and liaise with internal and external auditors as needed
  
  

Process Improvement

• Recommend and implement improvements to accounting processes and procedures
• Identify and address inefficiencies in workflow or reporting
  
  

Tax & Regulatory Support

• Gather and verify tax documentation for external tax advisors
• Maintain awareness of relevant regulatory and compliance requirements
  
  

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field
• 3–5 years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 1–2 years in a lead or supervisory capacity
• Solid understanding of GAAP and general accounting practices
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills
