Our client is a high-growth, early-stage institutional investment platform in the single-family residential (SFR) sector, modernizing how investors own and manage SFR homes at scale.
As their portfolio rapidly scales, our client is seeking a dynamic Accounting Supervisor to support day-to-day operations across the corporate accounting function, including general ledger, close, and financial reporting. The role blends hands‑on preparation with review responsibilities and offers strong exposure to cross-functional processes and leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and approve monthly adjusting and accrual entries in accordance with GAAP
- Perform month‑end general ledger review for accuracy and completeness
- Review monthly bank reconciliations, ensuring entries and follow‑up are performed in a timely and efficient manner
- Review and approve Accounts Payable invoices in the accounting system, including GL coding, approval, and documentation
- Prepare management fee schedules for the assigned portfolio in accordance with management agreements
- Interact and work with the company's property management and operations teams
- Assist with the continual implementation of operating systems in collaboration with property management, asset management, and investor reporting
- Assist in the annual audit and tax return preparation cycles
- Prepare and maintain balance sheet support schedules and investigate outstanding items
- Assist in updating account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records
- Support process improvement initiatives by identifying inefficiencies and recommending enhancements to existing procedures
- Oversee assigned ad hoc projects as needed
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required
- 3–5+ years of accounting experience, with at least 1–2 years of supervisory or leadership experience preferred
- Working knowledge of US GAAP preferred
- Experience in real estate property accounting preferred
- Experience with ASC 606 and ASC 842 preferred
- Strong numeracy and analytical skills with good problem‑solving ability
- Highly organized and detail‑oriented
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency with Excel; experience with ERP systems (Yardi, NetSuite) preferred
- Adaptability in a highly dynamic working environment
