Job summary

Basis in New York City is seeking an experienced accounting professional to join our post-Basis team and drive end-to-end accounting workflows for real-world, AI-enabled tasks.

You will collaborate with customers and our engineering team to redefine accounting processes in an AI-powered environment, ensure accurate financial statements, and mentor teammates as we scale Basis’s core product.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required.
• CPA license or Master’s degree in Accounting preferred.
• 4–10 years in audit and/or tax at a top public accounting firm.
• Experience auditing financial statements end-to-end (cash through operating expenses).
• Experience working with many distinct clients across industries.
• Excellent communication skills—translate complex accounting concepts clearly.

Responsibilities

• Work with engineering and design to translate requirements into workflows for accounting processes.
• Partner with clients and our engineering team to align product features with accounting needs.
• Develop processes for end-to-end accounting tasks within an AI-enabled platform.
• Prioritize edge cases and ship features that deliver reliable outcomes.
