Job summary

Pilgrim's is seeking an Accounting Specialist to work closely with operations and accounting management to maintain internal controls and ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley and GAAP. The role reconciles activity across SAP and other systems, researches discrepancies, processes various accounting transactions, and supports month-end close and reporting.

The candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams and may work Sundays to support production reporting.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years clerical accounting experience preferred.
• Must be able to communicate effectively, orally and in writing.
• Must be able to examine and verify financial documents and reports.
• Must be able to prepare a variety of reports and analyses.
• Knowledge of SAP or comparable ERP system, Excel and Microsoft.
• Knowledge of modern office practices, procedures, methods and equipment.
• Knowledge of accounting and auditing principles and practices.

Responsibilities

• Reconcile production, inventory, sales, transfers, and customer activity in SAP and other systems.
• Research and resolve discrepancies related to production, inventory, billing, invoices, receivables, credits, and write-offs.
• Process credits, debits, re-bills, deposits, returns, and other accounting transactions with proper documentation.
• Enter, validate, and analyze daily production and operational data including production, kill, and head count reporting.
• Assist with reporting, month-end activities, audits, internal controls, and SOX compliance requirements.
• Communicate with customers, transportation partners, and internal departments on account, billing, and payment issues.
• Cross-train and provide backup for payroll, timekeeping, and other accounting functions.
• Collaborate with Operations, Live Accounting, and Finance teams for accurate reporting.
