Qualifications

• Minimum of four years of experience in an accounting or finance department using an ERP system.
• Knowledge of fund accounting and accrual accounting.

Responsibilities

• Record transactions in accounts payable and billing sub-ledgers and reconcile to the general ledger monthly.
• Maintain supporting documentation for revenue, expenses, and payroll per retention policy.
• Process bi-weekly payroll and notify Cash Manager of net pay, tax, and garnishments.
• Ensure accuracy of pension contributions and employee retirement plan deductions.
• Reconcile benefit liability accounts in the general ledger.
• Prepare payroll-related general journal entries and non-PO invoices for AP interface.
• Review expense reports for compliance before reimbursement.
• Prepare audit schedules and assist independent auditors.
• Create billing upload worksheets for customer cities per contracts and annual budget.
• Invoice customer cities for operating, debt service, and lab services per contracts.
• Prepare internal billing journal entries for GL upload.
• Assist with annual budget preparation.
• Enter vendor invoices into validation batches daily and ensure PO approvals.
• Print and deliver vendor checks weekly.
• Record cash receipts in AR sub-ledger and post to GL.
