Job Summary
This position is for our client's CFO team to work as part of Mortgage Accounting Operations responsible for supporting leadership in assessing, creating, monitoring, and managing all aspects of Internal Controls for Financial Reporting (ICFR).

The ideal candidate will have experience in internal controls, financial reporting, and accounting operations. 3-5 years of experience required in Accounting, Finance or Auditing in a financial organization with Mortgage portfolio. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and/or Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) preferred.

This role is on-site 3-5 days a week in the DC Metro area and is available to start in June 2025.

Essential Job Functions
  • Work with process and control owners to maintain and update ICFR documentation, including process narratives, flowcharts, risk and control matrices, application lists, and control design and implementation documentation.
  • Perform the evaluation of control deficiencies, remediation plans, and tracks and monitors the adequacy of remediation activities.
  • Responsible for the ongoing completeness and accuracy of controls within the internal control databases.
  • Perform accounting operations such as booking, analytics, validations, ICFR and Financial Reporting in Commercial standalone reporting
  • Participate in the annual planning process, which includes ensuring the completeness and accuracy of applications in scope for the ICFR program.
  • Perform the quarterly control certification process for IT controls.
  • Creates the design and facilitation of annual ICFR controls training at the direction of the ICFR operations leadership.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the ICFR operations leadership, cross-functional ICFR assistance, and special projects efforts.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance or related business field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 3-5 years' experience required in Accounting, Finance or Auditing in a financial organization with Mortgage portfolio.
  • Extensive knowledge of general ledger, month-end close procedures
  • Internal Controls for Financial Reporting
  • Must be collaborative and have a positive attitude
  • Proficient with MS Office and general accounting software
  • Strong analytical skills and self-starter are a must
  • Attention to detail, good communication, time management, and client service skills a must
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and/or Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) preferred.
  • On site three to five days a week in DC Metro area
  • Available to start in June 2025
