Job summary

Florida Department of Financial Services in Tallahassee seeks a detail-oriented clerk to manage in-house check production, export payment files to FLAIR, and submit vouchers to the Bureau of Auditing. The role involves maintenance of payment records and handling vendor discrepancies.

The ideal candidate will have at least a high school diploma, some bookkeeping experience, and familiarity with Microsoft Office, especially Excel. A bachelor’s degree is preferred for advancement.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or its equivalent is required.
• Two years of bookkeeping, banking, and/or cash handling experience.
• One year of experience in check production (preferred).
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration from an accredited college or university.

Responsibilities

• In-house check production and printing, including importation of select third party service provider billing files and documentation.
• Exports payment files to FLAIR for printing of warrants.
• Develops and submits Central FLAIR vouchers to the Bureau of Auditing.
• Maintenance and monitoring of payment files exceptions/errors.
• Maintains payee contact information in the Risk Management Information System.
• Handles returned checks and check print special handling requests.
• Researches vendor errors identified by third party service provider.
• Performs select administrative duties within the Trust Fund Management Section.
