Job summary

Goodwill Greater Milwaukee & Chicago is seeking an Accounting Specialist to perform cash verification, posting of financial documents, and vendor invoice reconciliations in support of Navy contract obligations at Naval Station Great Lakes.

The role involves Excel data entry, use of Solomon Accounting system, training accounting techs, and ensuring accuracy in financial reporting and A/R processes across galley locations.

Qualifications

• Two years of college education or equivalent experience required.
• Minimum 1 year accounting or related experience; 3+ years preferred.
• Must have valid Real ID driver’s license and automobile.
• U.S. Citizenship required per Navy security guidelines; CAC within 90 days.
• Strong analytical, accuracy, efficiency, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Handle collection of Food Procurement documents and meal payments, including cash handling and deposits.
• Post Food Procurement data using Excel Spreadsheets for assigned Galley locations.
• Compile data to produce financial statements in accordance with Goodwill and Navy contract.
• Verify Uniform Replacement information and payroll deduction data, submitting weekly inputs.
• Process invoices in Solomon system and reconcile vendor statements for accuracy.
• Lead Host App training for Accounting Techs and schedule sessions.
• Support 365-day food service reporting, monthly/quarterly billing, and A/R invoicing.
• Enter payments into the Wide Area Work Flow system per contract specs.
• Engage in project and change-management tasks as assigned.
